Bishop Tyrrell Anglican College

Vocational Education & Training

Vocational Education and Training (VET), is  a valuable pathway to diverse and rewarding careers with nationally accredited and recognized qualifications. VET courses offer an excellent opportunity for students to achieve dual qualifications in the Higher School Certificate (HSC) and a VET qualification in their chosen field.

At Bishop Tyrrell, we offer Stage 6 VET courses that contribute to the HSC and some can even contribute towards the ATAR. This pathway provides a significant advantage for college graduates as they transition to further studies and work.

Our VET courses can be delivered on-site at our school or through an external provider, and are designed to help students gain accredited industry skills and experience while studying for the High School Certificate. Accreditation for VET courses is provided by NESA and AQF, which are nationally recognized by industry.

By completing Certificate III level qualifications, our students can lead to university entrance at a variety of universities, with credit transfers available for selected units. See the University of Newcastle Vocational Entrance information for more details.

At Bishop Tyrrell, we offer state-of-the-art facilities and industrial equipment for a hands-on learning experience. Graduates from our VET courses develop high capability skills that are valuable to future employers. On-the-job work placements provide additional work skills and future employment contacts.

Our VET courses also develop skills such as initiative, problem-solving, and communication, as well as working independently and in teams, which can be used in a wide range of employment and higher education settings.

If you’re looking for a pathway to a diverse and rewarding career, VET courses at Bishop Tyrrell are the perfect choice. Contact us today to find out more about our VET courses and how they can help you achieve your career goals.
