Preschool at Bishop Tyrrell Anglican College provides a nurturing, play-based environment for children aged 3–5, where they explore, discover and grow in confidence, supported by strong relationships and a close connection to our wider College community.
At Bishop Tyrrell Preschool, learning is guided by children’s curiosity, play and emerging ideas. Our educators thoughtfully observe, listen and reflect on children’s interests to design experiences that support each child’s development, growth and sense of wonder.
Through play-based learning, children develop strong foundations in communication, early literacy and numeracy, problem-solving, creativity and social skills. They are encouraged to ask questions, take risks, collaborate with others and build independence in an environment where they feel safe, supported and valued.
Learning takes place across engaging indoor and outdoor spaces, using materials that invite exploration and imagination. Children move freely between spaces, choosing how and where they learn, while educators gently extend thinking and learning through intentional interactions.
As part of the Bishop Tyrrell Anglican College community, Preschool children enjoy regular connections with the College through visits to Chapel, Music, the Library, PE and Art. These experiences enrich learning, build familiarity and help make the transition to Kindergarten a positive and exciting step.
