Developing a love of reading is at the heart of our College. Our two libraries provide welcoming spaces where students can read, research, collaborate, and explore new ideas.
Guided by our inspiring librarian, who encourages students to follow their interests, the libraries offer carefully curated collections and digital resources that strengthen literacy and information skills while supporting teachers in the classroom. Together, they foster curiosity, independent inquiry, and serve as inclusive hubs where every student feels supported and inspired.
Our libraries offer a rich collection of physical and digital resources, supporting learning, literacy, and curiosity across the College. Students can explore a wide range of books, develop research skills, and participate in activities designed to foster a love of reading.
Students attend dedicated library lessons, with Kindergarten to Year 5 attending each week, and Preschool and Years 6–8 attending fortnightly.
During these lessons, students engage in a variety of learning experiences that develop essential digital literacy and citizenship skills. They learn to analyse texts, justify their ideas, understand different text purposes, and apply effective research strategies. Many classes also take part in novel studies that deepen comprehension and spark rich discussion. All learning is closely aligned with classroom programs, helping to reinforce knowledge and support students’ growth across the curriculum.
Each lesson also includes time to borrow books, giving students regular opportunities to explore new titles, nurture their reading habits and build confidence as independent readers — a key part of their ongoing literacy development.
Our libraries host a range of engaging events throughout the year that celebrate reading, connect students with inspiring stories, and foster a love of literacy across the whole College community.
