ABW Challenge

Bishop Tyrrell Anglican College is committed to developing and enhancing the concept of Enterprise Education. One way we do this is by running the Australian Business Week (ABW) Enterprise Education program. This year ABW will run between 15-19th November 2021 with the help of our business community.

ABW Enterprise Education is an intense five-day education/business program designed by a partnership of universities, businesses, and school systems. The focus is to promote enterprise through education.

Students are required to form companies, elect their management teams, simulate the management of a multi-million-dollar company, produce a business concept, build an online presence for a panel of judges, produce a 30-second commercial, keep and present a digital journal of the week, write a company report and deliver a speech to shareholders outlining the company concept and performance.

The program encourages students to explore a range of vocational directions, develop their skills in communication, presentation, negotiation, problem-solving, time management, planning, and organising while working with others in teams.

To run a successful ABW Enterprise Education Program requires teachers, business people, and the extended community to work together for the benefit of our students.

This will require as much time as you are able to give during the program. You will love it!

How Can You Take Part?

We would like you to be our supporter in one of the following ways:

1. Providing Support – Sponsorship and donations, including cash for category winner prizes, daily prizes such as movie passes, iTunes vouchers, gift vouchers etc.

2. Business Mentors: As a business mentor you will be attached to a group of students representing a company. Each company will have two mentors - a teacher and a business mentor. Your key role as a business mentor is not to provide the answers to student tasks and questions, but to advise the team on how to reach conclusions, calling on both your professional and personal experience - a great learning experience in leadership and interpersonal relationships.

3. Guest Speakers:

Topics are as follows:

         - Marketing
         - Operations Management
         - Finance

4. Judges: Individuals with specialist knowledge are needed to judge a number of different prize categories. Judging is easy and follows the criteria that will be provided.

The Benefits of Providing Support

‘Sponsor promotion’ targets the opportunity to establish brand loyalty at an early age. By demonstrating a commitment to youth in the local community, customer loyalty for students, parents, and teachers is enhanced. Your company and logo will feature prominently throughout the week-long program.

Your company's banner can be displayed at the program venue. There will be a targeted display of your company's logo throughout the event. There is an opportunity for your company to locate potential future employees among the student participants.

I look forward to your participation in our annual ABW Program and will contact you in the near future with more information.
