The Bishop Tyrrell Anglican College Library supports students and staff in their educational, recreational and informational pursuits through our extensive collections, programs and events.

Developing a love of reading is our passion, as we believe reading is a gateway to many forms of success.

“One of the greatest gifts adults can give – to their offspring and to their society – is to read to children.”
– Carl Sagan

Our Library is a bright, safe space for students from Preschool through to Year 12 to enjoy, whether they are reading or studying, collaborating or getting creative.

We foster a love of reading through our extensive collections of fiction (including the latest and most popular series) and through programs and events such as Children’s Book Week, National Simultaneous Storytime, Kids Own Australian Literature Awards, Premier’s Reading Challenge, and author and illustrator visits.

Our collections also include non-fiction to support the curriculum, as well as the wider curiosity of our students. In addition, we have ebooks and audiobooks, electronic textbooks, and access to digital video content through Clickview.

The Library is staffed by a full-time librarian and a part-time library assistant who both support students and staff in accessing the collections, offering recommendations, navigating technology and developing research strategies.
