Service For Life
In essence, this is the central message of our model of leadership: that we should at all times endeavour to meet the needs of others. Leadership, then, becomes focused on those whom we serve, on the impact of our actions for the greater good, rather than just reflecting our own desires and ambitions.
Servant leadership also offers something to us as individuals. Albert Schweitzer once said that "the only ones among you who will be really happy are those who will have sought and found how to serve".
What we gain from our service is the genuine satisfaction that gives our lives a mission for our adventures and the knowledge that a quest based on helping others will present us with perspective and substance. In other words, when we know we are making a difference for the better in the lives of others, our own lives become enriched.
