Our College vision is focused on the education, nurturing and development of young men and women who will learn, lead and serve in the community. We believe that the quality of one’s leadership stems from the quality of one’s heart – the values, virtues, priorities and hopes.

Leadership is about the art of motivating, influencing and directing people so that they work together willingly to achieve the goals of the team or the broader organisation to which the team belongs. Leaders build relationships within teams, and help teams to define identities and achieve tasks.

Leadership begins with identifying and understanding our values. Our values are our fundamental beliefs, those principles, standards and qualities which we consider to be worthwhile and desirable. They are the context to all of our actions. We construct our identities as members of the College community by negotiating the relevance of values such as these in our daily lives. We try to answer some penetrating questions:

  • Who am I?
  • Where do I fit in?
  • How might I serve others?

We believe that all members of our community should be capable of exercising leadership in different contexts and that the more that leadership is encouraged, the more it flourishes.

We actively assume responsibility for serving others in order to achieve the mission of the team. We attempt at all times to lead by example and actively encourage other team members to develop positively as individuals within our community. We seek to embrace the highest standards of loyalty, service and integrity and to act in a manner that is consistent with the tradition and ethos of our community.

We strive to embrace the concept of excellence and pursue it with a combination of humility and will-power in a manner which seeks to enhance the dignity of all. We aim to reinforce our community’s expectations in relation to tone and discipline. In order to achieve this, we acknowledge the need to demonstrate resilience, persistence, initiative and a high level of connectedness to the team, its members and its culture.
