Bishop Tyrrell Anglican College - Fletcher, Newcastle, Williamtown

Preschool – children who have turned 4 years old before 30 June.
Kindergarten – children who have turned 5 years old before 30 June.

We are currently at capacity and have waiting lists for some year levels. For the latest information on the availability of places, please contact the College Registrar.

All applications are processed in order of receipt. Priority is given to siblings of current students.

All enrolments are subject to an interview with the Director of Primary or Deputy Principal before being offered a place at the College.
Preschool – interview only
Kindergarten to Year 2 – Interview and skills based assessment (coordination, pattern recognition, identification skills)
Years 3 to 5 – Interview and 40-minute online comprehension (English) test
Years 6 to 11 – Interview and online comprehension, maths and AGAT (general ability) testing.

It is not always possible to transfer an enrolment. However, we will do our best to accommodate your request. For the latest information on the availability of places, please contact the College Registrar.

You will have the option of transferring to the waiting list for the next intake year or you will be removed from the waiting list altogether. Application for Enrolment Fees are non-refundable.

The College has a number of scholarships that are available to students entering Years 7 and 11. For more information please visit our scholarships page.
In addition, bursaries are occasionally offered to families who would not otherwise be able to attend Bishop Tyrrell due to financial circumstances. Please contact the Registrar. to request a Bursary form.

The optimum class sizes are:
Preschool – 19
Kindergarten – 21
Years 1 to 6 – 28
Years 7 to 12 – 26

Yes, each area of the College has an allocated play area:
Kindergarten to Year 4 – Upper playground
Years 5 to 6 – TLA and small field
Years 7 to 12 – Outdoor basketball court and field

The College is well serviced by bus services that transport students to and from school in a safe and secure environment. The service is continually expanding with additional routes. Please contact our office staff to find out about your nearest bus service.

Kindergarten to Year 2 – Students have access to iPads and PCs in classrooms.
Years 3 to 6 – Students are required to bring an iPad to school each day as part of the College’s Bring Your Own Device policy.
Secondary – Students in Years 7 to 12 can bring an iPad, tablet or laptop of their choice as part of the College’s Bring Your Own Device policy.

 

Primary – Kindergarten to Year 6

Students participate in Physical Education lessons with a specialist teacher every week. Sport activities include:

  • Athletics and Cross Country Carnival preparation
